Words from the nirvana front man & the GODFATHER of GRUNGE. I’ve been expressing my love for 90’s ever since from cartoons to music to fashion because I was born in the 90’s it’s not bad to reminisce some old stuff, and I’ve been listening to throwback songs lately so I decided to post [again] something about le 90’s and now its GRUNGE which i adore since I love indie-grunge to glam-rock fashion.

So when you hear the word grunge think of Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love, Jared Leto, Taylor Momsen of gossip girls or even Kristen Stewart kinda look, messy hair, ripped of stockings,boots, Flannel shirt and discolored shirt. in the 90’s I’ve seen grunge fashion as dark, creepy almost those girls from le movie THE CRAFT or even Guys leaves under the sewers. it was HARDCORE! well since music back then inspired their fashion. and i hated it. holes in your clothes is part of grunge fashion[this is not an expensive look] but now i realized it was cool and trying to wear it back now and making it mainstream thanks to celebrities like Rihanna,Taylor Momsen, Kirsten Stewart, Miley Cyrus, OLSEN TWINS, Johnny Depp even the twilight Robert Pattinson were all spotted with a grunge look and I can also see some people who wears a grunge-inspired look on lookbook with a modern twist of course. avoiding too much black more of colored boots from doc martens, colored hair and of course cool accessories[ yea your look SCREAMS FREEDOM! and FREE LOVE.]

So what makes up a typical grunge look, well aside from the attitude & the confidence to walk around like a hustler here are some basic pieces to complete le grunge look.

for guys flannel shirt or a plaid shirt [tied around your waist], plain tees, old-ripped jeans or acid washed jeans, a beanie pair of boots [army boots are better I guess coz it gives you that rocker feeling:)] or even chuck taylor or vans.

back then the guys who sported the grunge look kinda looks like a guy who hasn’t been on a shower for years but now a since a metro sexual thing is still prefer le shaved look, [ and i think girls will agree on me on this.]

now for girls a flannel shirt, colored boots [doc martens], ripped-off leggings or skinny jeans but today grunge is being mixed up with glam so you can swith your jeans with leopard prints legging paired with biker boots and with leather-studded jackets. also try going neons specially on your top. also flowery dresses combined with boots and the”kinderwhore” [little girl dresses with Peter Pan collars]. cardigans and accessories [lots of danglings on your wrist & tatoo:))]dyed hair is also a plus specially for girls try going blue, pink or purple head. I dont really know if using heavy make up is necessary just try bold red lipstick with earth shades or even nude eye shadow just to tone everything down and you’re all set to go.

well if If you wanna go grunge you gotta have a tough attitude or personality but that doesn’t mean you go around and create chaos to the society since this look is all about expressing freedom when it comes to your style and act mysterious let your clothes speaks for itself so you’ll look cooler! [HELL YEA!]
